Safely Home – A Journey and a Destination
May 31 – Safely Home Rollout (Diversified Edmonton / BCTC)
Sunny skies and an awesome turnout, including friends from St Albert Transit, plus balloons, sizzle and pop made for a great Safely Home campaign rollout in East Edmonton on May 31st.
For a nice change, the Bus & Coach Training Staff hosted the BBQ at the McIntyre Location, letting those folks kick back and relax a bit. Of course, the McIntrye Staff helped with some of the set up and preparation, including Sean Hann setting up the video and screen, so we could all enjoy the Safely Home video and Mike Colborne’s passionate message to prominently place Safety into the culture of PWT and into the hearts of each employee – so that each person we are in contact with each day – gets Safely Home.
Rick Colborne opened the ceremonies with a touching speech on the Safely Home mission. Ed Bourassa outlined proactive initiatives to support a safety culture and Alison Martin reminded us that each action we take is a verb to be done safely – to ensure that we get ourselves and each other safely home.
It’s a journey as we embrace this unique culture; it’s the safe steps we take each day as we perform our individual duties; it’s a destination as we become the safety conscious culture we aspire to be.
